Scripture Union Daily Guide 24th March 2026 – Outline

There is a connection between Psalms 111 and Psalms 112; this can be seen in their ending and beginning verses. Psalms 111 focuses on God, while Psalms 112 is on the “man who fears the Lord” (Psalms 112:1).

In a world that is so dark and full of satanic attacks, many have become discouraged. A Global teens survey (OneHope, 2021), found that among teens today, 1 in 4 had experienced suicidal thoughts, 1 in 14 said they actually attempted to take their own lives, many were struggling with mental health….and only 7% displayed the belief and practices of a committed Christian. Where can we find hope?

God’s promises give us hope, light and guidance in the darkness of this world. Here are some of God’s promises in today’s passage for those who fear the Lord and delight in his commands – “their ‘children will be successful everywhere (Psalms 112:2)’, ‘their good deeds will last forever’ (Psalms 112:3), ‘light shines in the darkness for them’ (Psalms 112:4). Read Psalms 112:5-9 again and identify more promises that are there in for us.
See Psalms 112:1,4b,5 for the bridge between God’s promises and their fulfillment in our lives (cf. Philippians 2:12).
